What are Motley Mondays?
Motley Mondays are an experiment in communal space & a chance for all of us to share. Each Monday at Loft404 from 10am – 10pm we welcome artists, youth, social entrepreneurs and community organizations to work on their personal or collaborative projects in our inspiring creative setting. In exchange, we ask our Guests to share their immense skills and talents with us in whatever way they see fit and fair.
How do they work?
During Motley Mondays, we waive our standard booking fees, choosing instead to operate through barter on the concept of quid pro quo - the exchange one's energy in return for something else. Quid Pro Quo is Latin for "what for what" - when you give you receive, and when you receive you give. Each Monday welcome to Loft404…
… Have a meeting in one of our private rooms
… Book a main studio for a short rehearsal
… Brainstorm on one of our whiteboards
… Have an engaging conversation
… Relax with a tea or coffee
… Collaborate with others
… Share our WiFi
In exchange, we ask that you offer a fair energy exchange that you see fit, fair and of equal value. We always have a long list of tasks to be completed, but are also open to interesting and creative proposals from our Guests as well!
Why Participate?
For starters, there's no booking fee! Zero. All we ask in exchange for offering our uniquely inspiring space is you and your talents! There's also the advantage of becoming a part of this welcoming community, including opportunities for both self-directed & mentored personal and professional growth.
Who are they for?
Top priority is given to STUDENTS, ARTISTS, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS & LEADERS (and anyone in-between) dedicated to improving the world, who could benefit from Loft404’s unique and inspiring space.
